I've tried many and this is by far the best. Residue if any is minimal and the scent if very pleasant and trust me, if a scent is bad, I will react to it. Have used the other brands and they have a pretty powerful chemical odor that stays around for days. I have not used the carpet stick that you can buy with this but I do use my koblenz spinning brush machine and gotta say that this works better than any of the other products i've tried. won't say my 12 year old beige carpet looks like new but definitely gets it clean enough to have guests over and feel confident that they'll know my house is clean.
