Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of BISSELL Natural Sweep Dual Brush Sweeper, 92N0ACustomer Review: Does just what I need, no problems at all. Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this little fellow at a local hardware store even after reading all the negative reviews here figuring if it's as bad as everyone says with the handle etc. I'd just return it.
Either Bissell has updated this item to fix the areas people complained about (handle quality, noise, ease of emptying, performance on carpet etc.) or maybe I'm just dense, but it all works fine.
The handle screws onto the head of the sweeper so I don't really see how it could come apart or break? The handle itself is 4 tapered tubes that slip over each other, so it's just a friction fit but a good tap on a cement floor makes them plenty tight with each other.
I'm using this to clean up the low-pile carpet in front of our bathroom door where bits of cat litter collect on the carpet when the cat leaves his box, it worked fine, picked up everything no problem. Efficient, light, quiet... emptying should be done over a larger garbage can since the whole width of the front and back of the sweeper open to be emptied (separately of course), but really it's very simple.
I'd say that as long as you use this item for it's purpose (light spot cleaning) I don't see anything to complain about? It works fine and seems sturdy enough for what it is. If you want a vacuum then buy a vacuum, don't expect this thing to be that.
FYI one thing that's a bit odd to get used to is that this thing only works when moving, of course. Out of habit I park it over small items and expect them to be gone, of course they're not since it doesn't do anything unless the brushes are moving... DUH.
-1 star because I while it seems fine it's obviously not a super-high quality piece of equipment, don't get me wrong the overall finish is fine for the price point but it certainly doesn't exceed any expectations.
If anything changes, like it breaks or something, I'll update the review. Otherwise first impression is that it's fine and does just what it should!
Customer Review: Don't Bother Summary: 2 Stars
Works OK on bare floors but that's about it. And the handle absolutely WILL NOT stay attached to the sweeper. Really a pain.
Customer Review: Excellent! Summary: 5 Stars
An earlier reviewer mentioned the importance of firmly putting the pieces of the handle together: I tapped them together with a rubber hammer and everything is solid and works well. I couldn't be happier with it!
Customer Review: Faulty Handle! Summary: 1 Stars
I followed the instructions for assembling the handle exactly, my husband and I both have tried unsuccessfully to "strike" the handle hard enough to secure the sections. It constantly comes apart, even the part where it screws in comes off, which is unrelated to the tapered sections. Save your money- I am so disappointed because I have a dog and two messy little boys and I was hoping this would work for us. We aren't idiots and it is definitely not an issue with how it was assembled. It is clearly a faulty product.
Customer Review: Going back to the store! Summary: 1 Stars
I don't have the problem with the handle falling apart that other reviewers have mentioned. In fact, I now want to return it and neither I nor my DH can get it apart!
Unfortunately, I DO have the problem of it not picking up anything from my hardwood floors, my tile, or my bamboo rug. Since the sole purpose of a sweeper is to SWEEP, I am returning it ASAP. Not only that, when you try to empty it, the stuff it did manage to pick up goes all over the floor.
Very disappointed, and I can not recommend this product to anyone.
