I have two children: Chaos (4 1/2 years old) and Pandemonium (19 months). In the last two weeks, I have successfully cleaned vomit out of the carpet and just now I actually got RASPBERRIES out of the carpet. Yes, that's right. My two children had a raspberry fight in the living room (you know, the living room with the WHITE carpet in the RENTED condo). This thing is AMAZING. Still didn't quell my complete heart attack after I got off the phone and discovered their latest "sibling bonding" escapade but at least their Papa will be none the wiser when he gets home from work. I also use this steam cleaner on my microfiber sofa (which will show a water mark - that sofa was one of my worst purchases).
If you have kids and carpet (or thought a microfiber sofa would be a wise purchase), you NEED this machine.

I purchased this machine to clean the occasional mess from my 2 ferrets. I brought the machine home assembled it which took only a few minutes, mixed the solution and began cleaning the existing spots. This worked better than I expected. With very little scrubbing the spots were gone. Later in the evening some water was spilt on one of our kitchen chairs and I pulled out the machine to see if I could get some water out, and in this application it worked great as well. This machine also has a very long power cord which makes it that much easier to use. Overall I am very pleased with this product so far.Customer Review: Excellent Carpet Cleaner!

I just got this today, and I couldn't be happier. It does an excellent job on cat vomit, which is why I purchased it.
I've noticed a few reviews stating the spray is too wide, but it really only sprays 4-6". If you're using it properly, meaning the sprayer is ON THE CARPET where it's supposed to be, you don't have this problem. Sure, if you're holding it a foot away from the surface it sprays too wide, but why on earth would you do that?
I used to have a big Bissell upright steamer, which did an excellent job but a huge pain to drag out to clean up one or two small spots, and a small Black & Decker handheld, which had almost no suction and didn't seem to clean anything. This machine is the perfect compromise.

For a whole carpet cleaning, you need a different beast. But for small areas, I even removed stains that the professionals couldn't lift. Some reviewers have complained of leaks as well as odors building up. I think both of these can be completely avoided with a bit of care in cleaning up the machine after you use it. It is important to bring it to the sink or tub and vacuum up some clean water to rinse the hose and nozzle, then lift the nozzle high to let as much water as possible get sucked into the tank. Next, remove the tank and rinse it thoroughly from the top and bottom, partially filling and shaking while covering the top. There is a removable black rubber insert at the bottom that can be removed and rinsed separately. Let everything dry thoroughly before you put the tank back on the cleaner. That's all the maintenance that it takes to keep it leak- and odor-free. Naturally, if you leave it dirty and moist, bacteria will take over.
